Sorry I’ve been scarce lately. The results of the auriculotherapy survey touched off a huge flurry of activity around the office and we’ve got some exciting new developments I’ll tell you about soon.
Meanwhile, I ran across an excellent article on marketing the Acupuncture practice that you really should read in the latest Acupuncture Today. It’s called, “Why Acupuncturists Resist Marketing” by Kevin Doherty, L.Ac., MS.

This guy really gets it! He talks about the mental blocks many of us have to marketing and business in general, even while hoping for practice success. I’ve been saying the same things for years, though not quite as well as Kevin. He aptly points out that there are both Yin and Yang aspects to running a successful acupuncture practice, and the lack of balance between the two most often leads to struggle and failure. Unfortunately, because many of us as healers are less versed in the Yang aspects of the business, we tend to ignore or even resist taking the steps that will bring success.
His thoughts also help us understand we not only need the mindset for marketing, we also need the tools. These consist of certain knowledge, skills, and I would add, a technology that will help us all reach potential patients with the power of acupuncture. And of course, AcuGraph is by far the best tool for the job when it comes to marketing technology.
Pop on over and read the article, then let me know what you think. Thanks!
Great artical I think we know some of this infomation but fail to act we need good things and people like yourself to turn the light on as we can not find the answers even when they are in front of us.Thanks again
I think marketing is very important to grow our practice in acupuncture. We need to go out there and let people know how safe and effective acupuncture is to treat their symptomps and illness. People need to know that acupuncture diagnosis and treatment are now more modern and evidence based. I’ve been using Acupgraph and advertise the use since four years ago and it really helps in faster patient’s recovery and of course more patients are curious about it come for treatment. I’m sure it will continue to help us, acupuncturists. GBU!
