Want to Attract New Patients? Study online Dating! 5/5 (38)

Almost a dozen times a night we see advertisements on TV for online dating sites! What do the relationship experts say is the key to finding your perfect mate?  Knowing yourself! You see, if you know what YOU want, what YOU like, what YOU want to do or not do, then it’s easier to find someone similar. An online dating profile includes pictures of course, but it also includes a written profile that is supposed... Read more

What’s Different This Time? 5/5 (39)

Have you ever tried something and failed? Do you keep trying?  What would you do if you had tried something 10 times and failed each time? I don’t know about you, but I would make sure that, when I tried again, I did things differently. I’m about to show you a case where a patient did exactly that. He tried 10 times to break his caffeine addiction without success–and with considerable discomfort. So he did... Read more

A Map or a Model? 5/5 (38)

Do you remember how to read a map? I certainly do. I remember miles of squinting at little squiggly lines while trying to navigate my way across the country in years past. But now with GPS navigation, many of us don’t use maps at all anymore. GPS is simply more detailed, more accurate, and a more reliable way to get there. (At least it usually is–I know there are GPS exceptions as well, but stick... Read more

Hemorrhoids and Networking! 5/5 (41)

This morning I was at my weekly networking event. Each week I get 45 seconds to talk about my business and present something memorable and interesting about acupuncture.  The purpose of the group is for me to teach my colleagues about what I do in my clinic, so they can easily refer patients. There is an ongoing joke about being nervous to sit next to Kimberly, because: “You never know what she is going to... Read more

Details for your Expert Marketing Campaign 5/5 (38)

Last week I jumped into the details of a quick “Expert Marketing” plan.  As I re-read the blog I realized I may have given you too much to digest. I’m afraid I was motivated by the urgency of your comments in the business survey I posted. Tell me what marketing challenges you’re facing and need help with! Let’s spend a little more time talking about Marketing before we get into this week’s “Meat & Potatoes.” Relationship... Read more

Can you get your patient pregnant? 5/5 (42)

I’m beginning to get a reputation around town for getting women pregnant. Literally, I have a following of women who tell their friends and family that if they want to get pregnant, they need to come and see Kimberly. Now, you and I both know that I can’t really get them pregnant.  But I do play a very important role in helping women conceive. From a TCM perspective, there are a number of patterns that... No Cost Marketing that Works! 5/5 (39)

For the past 2 weeks, I’ve collected data and asked questions designed to get you thinking about the kind of practice you want to build. Did you do the assignments? I wouldn’t be surprised if you “intended to,” but with your busy schedule, you didn’t get them done (don’t you hate homework!). Well, I’m going to move on. However, those exercises are still valuable to do…kind of like giving your practice a regular “exam.” We... Read more

Acupuncture Cardinal Points – Reference Source 4.95/5 (55)

When I was in college, I had a professor who used to tell me that she was a “lazy” acupuncturist. She had acupuncture points that she used regularly with her patients that worked, and she got really great results. Therefore she didn’t see a need to continue to come up with new and improved acupuncture points. If a particular point works time and time again, why reinvent the wheel—right? I am a bit of a... Fratkin Tidbits 5/5 (38)

We recently finished a seminar with Dr. Jake Fratkin here at Miridia Technology.  Each time I attend a training with Dr. Fratkin, I learn something new. Jake made it very clear that he also continues to learn and evolve in his practice of Chinese medicine. I picked up several helpful tidbits from this seminar which immediately helped me in my practice. Luckily, I’m really great at note taking because of my experience in the field... Read more

Dr. Jake Fratkin Live Training Report (and pictures!) 5/5 (40)

Here at Miridia headquarters, we spent the weekend holding our live training with Dr. Jake Paul Fratkin. “Clinical Applications of AcuGraph Meridian Diagnostics” was a huge success. Every seat sold out and very high ratings from attendees. Highlights included advanced graph interpretation and treatment, Japanese needling techniques and philosophy, Dr. Fratkin’s wealth of clinical experience, and of course, my bare backside. (Dr. Fratkin demonstrated his back treatment on me in front of the class–including needling GB... Read more

Band-Aid Treatment??? 5/5 (41)

I pride myself in not giving a “Band-Aid” treatment to my patients. Band-Aids, in the form of pharmaceutical drugs, are often used as a cover up in the Western medical arena for an underlying health problem. As acupuncturists, we are taught to search out which imbalances are causing symptomatology to occur. I want to share a secret with you. Last week, I became convinced that Band-Aid treatments may benefit my patients… Case Study A patient... Read more

Can Acupuncture Really Help ME? 5/5 (38)

Most people really don’t have any answer to this question, or any idea even what an acupuncture needle is. I keep a list of challenges that inspire me to expand my potential. Last year there was one in particular that inspired me and motivated me to take action. Meet and become liked by 50 people who will most benefit your business. In 2011 I set a goal to expand my circle of influence within my... Read more

What’s up with the graph? 5/5 (39)

Do you have patients who come in for regular acupuncture tune-ups? With patients who come in regularly, you get to know their graphs pretty well. I can usually look at the graph and know if they had been partying over the weekend, if they have had a cold, or if they are under a lot of stress. Recently I had a patient come in and her graph was NOT normal. Well, at least it wasn’t... Read more

AcuGraph Correlation with Symptoms Improvement 5/5 (36)

Dr. Chris Teo just sent me another case study from his work with cancer patients. In this case, his herbal therapy and e-therapy treatments produced a very noticeable improvement in the patient’s symptoms. Interestingly, the patient’s graphs got better as well, confirming that the treatments were positively affecting the meridian system. Have a look: https://painandwellness.org/2012/01/08/breast-bone-cancer-e-therapy-relieved-pains-of-her-backbone/ Thanks, Dr. Teo for another outstanding learning experience!
